About the Artist - the formal info
Barbara Treick has always believed that creativity doesn't ask for permission — it simply arrives, sometimes in a whisper, sometimes in a whirlwind.
A self-taught (autodidact) visual artist, Barbara grew up in Silverdale, Washington and spent years exploring the Northwest before settling back in North Mason, where she continues to dream, create, and wander through color.
In the 1990s, Barbara was an active member of Parklane Gallery in Kirkland, Washington, showcasing her intricate pen-and-ink collages. Her featured exhibitions, The Devils Inside of Me and Endangered, explored deep emotional and environmental themes. During her time at Parklane, she served as Gallery Operations Director, Gallery President, and as a devoted member of the Parklane Gallery Association.
In 1996, Barbara realized her voice in pen and ink had finished telling its story. She walked away — not from art, but toward a new creative future.
Over the years, Barbara's creativity found fresh forms:
- Photo collages crafted from freezer-door family memories
- Handcrafted jewelry sold through Ventures at Pike Place Market
- Fluid acrylic pours and wallpaper weaves, blending color and texture into vibrant, unexpected designs
Today, Barbara’s work explores everything from fluid painting to bold mixed-media collages to dreamlike digital transformations.
Her current collections — including Born from the Lights and Sheela na Gig: The Fierce Bloom — capture the wild, ever-shifting dance between wonder, memory, and imagination.
